The film screening of the “The Rough South of Larry Brown” includes a conversation with Gary Hawkins, Greg Johnson, and Tom Rankin at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 12 at Proud Larry’s (211 S. Lamar Blvd). The event is co-sponsored by the UM Archives & Special Collections and is free and open to the public.
The life and works of Oxford, fireman-turned-writer Larry Brown are examined in a unique documentary format that incorporates narrative film adaptations of three of his short stories: “Samaritans,” “Wild Thing,” and “Boy & Dog.”
